Privacy policy

What we hold, why, who sees it, and your rights. Last updated 4 August 2026.

What we hold, and the deliberate minimum

About your family: your phone number, your child's first name only and school year if you tell us, the lessons booked, the tutor's written reports, practice work done here, and payment records. We never ask for your child's surname, photograph, date of birth or school.

About tutors: everything above plus the vetting record — identity document images, qualification certificates and employer letters they send us.

Why we hold it

To run lessons and payments, to keep the record parents rely on (what was taught, what was paid), to vet tutors before they meet a child, and to reach you about your own bookings. Nothing else. We do not sell data, and we do not advertise with it.

When you pay, our payment provider tells us the registered name on the mobile-money account — we use it only to address you properly, and you can correct your name any time in My details.

Practice help is provided by an AI assistant. It sees the practice question and what your child types to it — never your child's name — and every exchange is visible to you and the tutor.

Who sees what

A tutor sees the first name, year and lesson details of the children they teach — your phone number is shared only once a booking is confirmed. A parent sees only their own family's record. Our staff see what their role needs: the call centre cannot see money or vetting; identity documents are visible to vetting staff only, and every viewing is logged. Payments run through our payment provider; messages reach you by Telegram or SMS.

Keeping and deleting

Lesson and payment records are kept while you use the service, because they are your history and our books. Sign-in codes expire in ten minutes and are stored only hashed. If a tutor is not taken on, their documents are deleted after the decision. Ask us to correct or delete your data and we will, keeping only what payment law requires us to retain.

Your rights, and where to ask

You may ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted — from your family portal or by calling the number on your booking message. We answer within days, not weeks.
